Summary

For IT professionals who want to practice their interview skills. The project team lacks a clear understanding of their target audience, as they claim the product will offer the 50 most popular questions from 12 categories, such as: leadership, project management, problem-solving, communication and analytical skills. Without clear specialization divisions or differentiation.

Verdict: 1/10. No, we do not recommend considering this solution if you are from Ukraine. First thing to do: Access, omnichannel.

Test scenario

Step 1

Is it clear in 10 seconds what the product does and who it’s for?

The first screen is very minimalist, with no text just images that don't even translate using the native browser translator. The key call-to-action for a random visitor is very vague: Mock interviews, Mock offers. For many people with technical education or developer experience, it will be clear that these are "test" interviews and "test" offers. But what this actually means raises many questions. The hero block definitely needs to be worked on and will take 1-2 hours to form a more valuable proposition.

Step 2

How many sign-up steps are there, and is a card required immediately?

Registration is not possible on the web, the project team offers to download the app from App Store or Google Play platforms. When attempting to download from the App Store, it gives an error. When trying to find the app through search on the phone MockTok – we couldn't find the app in our country. It's a shame, this could have made sense for Ukraine as well. Step failed: Error when attempting to install the app from the App Store.

Failed to test. The app does not work in our country. Step failed: The app does not work in our country.

Three focus questions

Focus 1

How clear is the product onboarding?

Onboarding is missing, the user is left on their own. For example, we couldn't even install the app. To the Founder: Provide access to the service for all European countries or at least those where the IT sector is a fairly strong part of the economy, for example Ukraine.

Focus 2

Is the pricing logical?

No information about pricing, we couldn't determine whether the cost of the solution matches its value. To the Founder: Provide information about the service cost on the official project page.

Focus 3

Does the product fit the stated audience?

We couldn't figure it out, it seems the project team itself hasn't understood or still hasn't understood who the target audience of the project is. To the Founder: Add profiles and specializations, mock interviews for backend developer or frontend.

Takeaways

01 What worked We think the project has potential, especially in a period when there is a reassessment of requirements and expectations from IT sector candidates, which is related to the implementation of artificial intelligence. Interview requirements are also changing and questions are being adapted to modern times. So there is value in this, one hundred percent.
02 What annoyed Country restrictions, no pricing and the official project website is not adapted to different locales.
03 Who it’s not for Hard to say, but definitely not for those in Ukraine who use iPhone. You simply won't be able to download the app to your phone.
04 Fix first Access, omnichannel.

What the grades mean

A+
A product you can recommend without caveats: the path works end to end and first value arrives fast.
A
A strong product. Small rough edges remain, but they do not break the experience.
A-
A solid product you can actually use. The issues are local, not structural.
B
It works, but with noticeable friction. The value is there, yet the path to it is long or confusing.
C
A mixed result: there is a seed of value, but important parts of the flow break or stall.
D
A weak state. In its current form the product is hard to recommend.
